ABOUT
The beautiful silk products available at Hand Marbled Designs were made by my mother, Cosette Russell, for her business, Cosette Originals. Cosette was a prolific artist who had a 40+ year career doing what she loved to do, making one-of-a kind artwork. Starting with batiks in the 1970s, then moving onto silk painting and marbling in the 1980s, she got immense satisfaction out of helping customers find just the right color and pattern of scarf, tie, or vest. She was a well-known Austin artist who often displayed and sold her work at Fiesta Art Festival at Laguna Gloria Art Museum, Pecan Street Festival, and Armadillo Christmas Bazaar, but also was known on a national level with her art being available through the Museum Store catalog for the Art Institute of Chicago and the Smithsonian Store catalog. I am proud to be able to offer some of the remaining inventory from Cosette Originals. Online inventory will be renewed on a regular basis as items are sold.
